| Yeah, I'd be extremely nervous to lap a really expensive CPU like the X6800, but you did an excellent job on it. | One of my magazines has 6000 grit stones used for shining/sharpening knives and chisels. Would be interesting to see what a 6000 grit lap would look like, but I doubt the stones are anywhere near flat enough. Anyways great guide! | Couple Questions: 1 - Do you moisten the sandpaper at all, since it's wet/dry sandpaper? 2 - If my HSF is very convex, to the point where only the very center of the HSF touches the CPU... would this work for me? Will it remove enough metal? 3 - How long did stage 1 take you (400 grit) ? Thanks! Great guide! |
