Agreed. It's what I used for my review of the Uber Chakra case when I built the demo system in it. =)

Something that was not mentioned was the use of rounded IDE cables instead of the Ribbon type. They really help tremendously and will avoid the cost of the higher priced SATA drives.

Nice clean article with good picture illustration! I can use as much help and suggestions as possible. I have a Fan Controller in my unit which is nice, but added a mess of other cables. I am going to pull it out in the next month and redo it again and any suggestions would be great. My case is in my sig if you are interested.

Question, I use thin velcro strips and they seem to work real well. Any down side that anyone is aware of?

Keep up the good work,

roger

Using velcro strips don't have any downside to it I don't think. They are reuseable, so that is good. Just keep the cables out of sight and out of airflow and your good.

It's really more personal preference. I personally don't like how Velcro straps look when used for cable management. They are reusable, but they are also quite a bit more expensive then zip ties. I go zip tie crazy when I build a system, its easier for me to use zip ties.

The rounded IDE cables are a great idea but I am trying to understand the part about the higher cost. I get SATA DVDRW drives for within a buck of 2 of IDE. Actual HD tend to also be very close in price with no real difference.
