Maybe there is a simple and humorous way to revisit all of this.

We understand that with the upcoming election, political fervor is at a high, and we may eventually decide to open a highly moderated political thread on the topic (no promises). In the meantime, thank you all for your cooperation.

Political and or religious threads have almost always met with dismal failure and turn into pissing contest with links to useless and frequently biased information. That is why I am against them, even with the grandaddy of elections looming on the horizon.

However, there may be an alternative solution if people play by the rules. We could consider a political humor and satire thread. Something along these lines:

If You Vote For Obama:



You Get This:



If You Vote For McCain:



You Get This:



Now that could not get any simpler could it? To me a vote for McCain is a no brainer.

Political humor and satire could likely make for a good fun thread affording some humor to things. No bad or hurt feelings and some laughs for those who keep an open mind. The images were right out of an email I recieved as I am sure many of you have seen.
