They play amazing! MY x850 is powerful enough to play at those resolution with decent settings, and at such resolutions, AA and AF become much less important, so I can scale that down to save some performance. The nicest thing about it is the increased view width in FPS's, it feels more natural and is more immersive! Also, most games are now supporting widescreen natively, and most of the rest can be changed with a simple hack (usually available at the widescreen gaming forum.

The increased utility is also very nice. I can have a full web browser open, as well as my buddy list and a couple chat windows simultaneously on one monitor, no more alt-tabbing!

Anyways, I could NEVER go back to a 4:3 monitor after using these!

Cool, thanks for the info. It's mostly the fact that I've heard that many games don't look right at widescreen resolution. But I guess that isn't an issue much anymore?

x850 doesn't get much affected by AA however, AF you can still see it no matter what your resolution is. Cut down on shadows, see the fps climb. ;D

Only some games that have to be hacked don't look right. All games that natively support it look fine, but sometimes with hacked games, the menus get stretched some.

I also have a Dell 2005FPW. I love it. I also use Widescreen Gaming to help me get Widescreen in my games. I havn't found a game yet that they didn't have a solution for. Once you game in widescreen you can't play on a normal monitor anymore.

Yeah, I was in the laptop sections, since I originally had an I8200. The questions did get extremely repetitive. That place sparked enough interest in me that I realized how much I enjoyed computers. I then found MPC, and now I'm here. I've learned so much in the past three years, it's amazing.

Same. I've been at Dell since October 2003 I believe. I originally started off in OptiPlexes, since that's the system I had. When I had about 250 posts, I moved to the Dimension forum. There I learned way more and my participation shot up largely. I had about 1000 posts within no time. I was consistent like this until I hit around 4000 posts, where it slowed down. I got bored of all the **** stuff (by this time, I was also at MaxPC, where I started going on a post streak there too). Now I only post on the Gaming board, because we get off topic so much. We lost a lot of forum regulars, mostly because I believe the same as Smith. It just got too repetitive.

My total post count over there is 4637. Crazy huh? My MPC post count almost hit 1000. My post count here is like 57, including this post. Haha.

But still. I've learned more about computers in the past three years than I've ever expected. It all started with a Google search to see if I could get a faster processor for my OptiPlex GX1p. Lol.
