Then you've gotta scratch it man :!:
Seriously, I've modded every case I've had since the very first. It is all a learning experience so don't expect anything spectacular your first time around. I'm still making lots of mistakes and learning new ways of doing things. I think it's lots of fun and you can always make your cases the way you want. It always seems like with cases that if you want it done right, you have to do it yourself!
lol I hear ya... I've actually got 5 old cases sitting here, a few are actually old AT towers... (pre-ATX standard) lol - I found em for free about 3 weeks ago, and thought about "practicing" on them hehe
Can we get just a couple more quotes in there?

Good job with the mod, Blake! It looks awesome! :thumleft:
That's even better man! Then if you make a mistake it is no problem!
You should also check out this deal if you are looking for a good case on the cheap that you can cut up and mod.

The first major hurdle to moding designing a plan. It takes a while to come up with something that looks cool, yet is still functional (or even possible). As always, if you ever have any Q's of anykind be sure to ask!

Oh yeah, thanks for the compliment yuri
You're welcome

And here's another quote...

I'm thinking about doing a mod of my own. I'm broke though, so I'll have to see if my dad will pay for the paint

Got prrettymuch all of the case cutting work done tonight.

It consisted of a top 120mm blowhole....

This really helped to keep my drilling the holes in the right spot!

And here is the finished blowhole cutout....

Yes, there are four exra holes, you'll just have to wait and see what those are for 8)

I also cut out the fan grill over the front intake fan to maximize airflow...

And here is an odd looking shot trying to capture both cuts:

That's all for now. The next step is to get some materials and parts on order so I can start adding the final "pieces of flair" :D

are the 8 holes there to facilitate having one fan pulling inside and one fan pushing outside?

NOPE :P
I'm going to make something similar to what I did on the top of the Secret of the Ooze case (less the handle but with red acrylic and the addition of a 120mm fan) 8)

How much further do you have to go on that project?

Well, I'm not really sure. I guess it depends on if I am going to sleeve the PSU that is going in this thing or not. But I will be sleeving the internal case wiring regardless. Once I finish the top blowhole part, I have a couple other suprises (in addition to the sleeving).

I'll roughly estimate that it will still be a month or so until completion. Mostly due to waiting for parts and materials to still be ordered and shipped.
