i would go to put back the black professional look onto it, green is nice but not
all people dig it...

You should have gotten a fine wire brush wheel attachment for the dremel or something and just brushed it up to show the raw aluminum color. Then get some 0-0-0 steel wool and polish that baby up, it will look like the P182 Special Edition!
