That's where the processor was made. First made in 2001.

1200mhz, 256k cache, 100FSB, 1.5volts

7309A130-0652:

1st digit is the plant code
0=San Jose, Costa Rica
1=Cavite, Philippines
3=?, Costa Rica
5=Shangai, China
6=Chandler, Arizona
7=?, Philippines
8=Leixlip, Ireland
9=Penang, Malaysia
L=?, Malaysia
Q=?, Malaysia
R=Manila, Philippines
Y=Leixlip, Ireland

2nd digit is the year of production

3rd/4th digits are the week of production

5th-8th digits are the test lot traceability number

9th to 12th digits are the Serialization code

So this one was made the end of February, 2003. It must have been one of the last ones made.

SL6C8 is the intel sSpec code, which you can look up: http://processorfinder.intel.com/scr...sp?sSpec=SL6C8

I dug up another two 128MB sticks of SDRAM, so I'm up to 384MB now, which should be fine.

I stacked some drives up for comparison too (I promise this is the last drive picture):

Unfortunately I don't have the slocket or the 2-1/2" drive adapter kit yet, so its not all together. But this is pretty much what it'll look like inside:

On the front I moved the floppy/card reader down a bay, so you can see it easier from above. Again the blacks are a much better match without the camera flash:

I forgot the foil tape yet again (I must be getting old), so I just grabbed the label-maker:

And finally, stacked on my Yamaha amp. It's pretty tall, but my dad should have room for it:

I picked up the Zalman 6000-AlCu heatsink this afternoon from a friend, and tested it to see if it fit using an old (non-Tualatin compatible) slocket.

The heatsink comes in three flavours: all aluminium, all copper, or an aluminium/copper mix. Copper tends to cool better, but is much heavier. Since I'm a bit worried about hanging too much weight off the slocket I went with the AlCu hybrid. Plus I got one for free ("long term loan", anyways).

It is very simply made, just like the newer Zalman heatsinks. The fins are all thin plates, and are through bolted at the base (with two end pieces). The bottom is then machined flat. In this way the bottom of each fin is directly touching the CPU (or IHS, in this case). The base is pretty flat, so I don't think I'll bother lapping it.

It fits almost perfectly. Better then I had hoped anyways. I say almost because it blocks the last memory slot, and comes close to the 2nd last memory stick. But it clears all the caps on the motherboard, so I'm happy.

It comes close to the third memory stick but doesn't touch it. It's hard to see from the pic, but it is about 1mm away. I'll stick some high quality thick electrical tape on the back of the memory module.

I definitely won't be using four memory sticks 'tho.
