Yeah, single color shouldn't be too much and most shops are used to doing much larger projects than a computer case. When I talked to him a while back he said it'd be relatively cheap as long as I didn't pick any crazy colors like candy or pearl. I gotta bring the case to him to get a no BS concrete estimate though, so we'll see.

BTW Blake...the new case is gonna look SICK. I really dig the black on orange combo.

HAHA, thanks, but I still have yet to get the case yet! I mean, it's already ordered, it just won't get here until Thursday or Friday.
I took the picture in my sig and avatar from one of the other projects that have inspired me for this project...

Damn that case is sick! I love his use of plexi on the interior panels. Anyone who is that detail oriented is definitely in line with what I like to see. He left no stone unturned for sure.

As an update to my own little project, I called the guys over at Superior Powder Coat here in Navarre, FL (sorry, no website...>.>) and they've done cases for customers before. The guy I spoke with said a mid tower would run around $60 with the prep work included so that's a good thing. In my own opinion, that's a very reasonable price to pay considering how durable and amazing looking a nice powder coat can be. I'm psyched to get this thing ready for the new finish. Probably my only concern with powder coat is that the threaded standoff locations for the motherboard and other things might get plugged up. I'll have to invest in a small tap and die set just in case.

I'm sure they have plugs (or even screws) that they can put in the screw holes. So if that's your biggest worry, then I'd say you are good to go! Are you getting a glossy finish on this case or just matte?

I still hadn't decided just yet to be honest, but most likely gloss inside and out. I was thinking of taking a page from the P182 though. I think overall, it'll tie together better (and hold up longer) with a few coats of clear on it.

I say stick to the Sonata tradition and go with the nice glossy finish

What I did, when I had my case powder coated, was use some of the coarse, and fine threaded screws, inserted them into all of the screw holes that were needed to reassemble the case, and once the powder coating was completed, I used the screws that had the powder on them for reassembly!

That way the screws match the rest of the case!
