It works good for forming plastics (plexi) and linolium floor tiles. I've never done this before, so I'll be doing a lot of practicing on scrap pieces to get the hang of it before I start working on the real thing. I'm still trying to come up with ideas for it though because I designed the whole case around not being able to bend any plastic. So now that I can bend plastic, I don't know what to do! I'm sure I'll be able to find some uses for it though, I've already got a couple ideas. I will at least be able to use it for heatshrink when I sleave my PSU. And if nothing else, it will DEFINATELY be used for my next project(s) 8) | |

| I made a strip heater for plastic once that was used to make incubators. It was just 2 sheets of 4x8x 3/8 aluminum with a heating element. The sheets were placed edge to edge and the heating element ran the length of the sheets under them, by adjusting the gap between the sheets you controlled the bend radius. |

| Modder-ator | Well, I just thought I would give you guys a quick update on this project. Here is how it stands right now.... :( ![]() Basically I am just too busy with school and life to get anything done on it, but I definately haven't forgotten about it and have every intention of finishing the project. It will just be on "hold" until this summer when my life settles down a little and I have more free time and $$ to do it right. ....Until then! ![]() |

| Hey there, blake...I finally got a chance to take a look at your project, and I gotta say, man, very nice work so far! It seems that a lot of folks are getting into building their own cases, and this is gonna be a nice one when it's completed. 8) I was noticing in one of the shots of the acrylic sheets with the corner exposed, it looked like there were some cracks in the corner. Was I seeing things? I saw the crack on the edge of that one piece that you showed, but it sounds like you got that covered. One question I have...while I like the creativity involved in making your case to your own specific dimensions, how are you going to able get the individual components secured and wired without developing carpal tunnel in your hands? (especially with the PSU cables facing the back of the case...didn't look like a lot of room right there with the panel above it) I meant the question humourously of course, but I'm just wondering about the seemingly very limited space in which you'll have to work in. I know that since I installed my Big Typoon, I've become good friends with limited space and working in my case has gotten more difficult, depending on what I'm doing. Looking forward to updates! Keep up the good work! :) If it's not fixed, then don't broke it! |
