How does the fan connect onto the psu? Are the wires soldered onto the PCB? or is there like an actually plug.

If you are smelling burnt plastic the only hting i can think of is you may have plugged it in wrong somehow.

Alright... so there is a polarity protected plug, so it can only go in one way. You didn't use the plug, but you have the right polarity. The two wires touched the plug and the plug burned?

Hmmm. Does the powersupply itself work if you just power it on with a fan?

i'm gonna say yes. You could just mod a 4 pin fan onto the poower supply? Cut out a 80mm slot on teh power supply and an 80mm slot above the power supply (so on the case) and just sticka fan there. But that would be alot of work.

Or you mod another fan back on.

Or buy a new one for 30 dollars or so.

Ok look. It will work without a fan, but you will probably encounter some heat-related problems.

If you can't connect the fan anywhere on the fsb, buy a fan, (4-pin) (i can sell you one at school for 3.50), then route it outside of the psu box and plug it in.
