Small Update!! :D
5-17-08

So last week I got to some lapping!!! (BTW, sorry for the blurry pics, I didn't feel like taking the time to take good ones while I was lapping.....)
It's a QX6700 ES.

Rubbed some 1500 grit on the proc to see where the dips were:

Starting off with 400 grit:

More 400 grit:

Finished with 400 grit:

And then after 800 grit:

Finished pics:

So far, I'm getting better temps than before by a couple C in idle temps, I haven't tested load temps though. But when I do, I'll let you guys know.

One thing though, do you think I should go to 1200 grit? or more?
I've heard that 800 grit is enough and that theres not any performance gain going above that.
Thoughts??

Thanks man!

It performs pretty good too! at least 1-2c better "idle" and 5c 'ish better "load".
Load temps is where lapped IHS's really shine (haha pun!!! ), I haven't even bowed my waterblock yet, can't wait to see what results I get then.

Man it's hot today, thursday was worse though, it was at least 98 degrees.....
Good thing I know a buddy with a pool!

Yea, looks great!!!! I don't really know for sure if going to 1000, or 1200 would do any better temp wise, but it will look better,,,,,,,,,,,Like that matters once the sink is on the cpu

But hey, it will make for better pics

Haha, very true... I do like shiny....

We'll see, I'm doing waterblock testing right now though, so I can't really take out the CPU atm.....

Nice Parker! Shiny is just for looks, won't get you better temps... but once you bow that water block that will get you better temps. When are you getting the rest of the WC parts? And yea, it's been roasting over here...

Whoa, did I not post pictures yet????
Bad Parker BAD!!!!! I thought I already did.....

I've been running a watercooled loop for almost 3 weeks now...
Temps are great!

First off, I want to thank Rich for sending me a board to use since my striker died on me.

Heres the main setup atm:

The rad and pump in the window....

The res sitting high and mighty above the beloved computer parts with it's thermal sensor sitting inside it through a ghetto tubing portal, sitting next to it is my custom wired LCD displaying the temp of the water (running of a 9 volt battery )

And heres the whole setup, as you can see, the pic is very blurry, sorry about that....

I'm currently thermal testing the Fuzion V2 waterblock, it's looking pretty good compared to the original Fuzion V1, about 3-4c lower temps.
