When you refer to the crack at the top of the case, you mean that the front panel extends higher than the frame itself?

my photoshop skills suck, but heres how you should take two of the arms off the X

turn it from an X to an S for spidermonkey :P might wanna get a beefier card than that 6200 if at all possible.

i always wanted to make like a little housing for the top of the case and all the exaust fans would be linked with mini ducts. and you could cover the inside with tinfoil and it could be like a little oven. were you could cook hot dogs or somethin
