The x1600 Pro is pretty sweeet. Way better than my 6600GT. Its a phsycological thing though. I have yet to discover the true numbers.

I just don't understand that 3dmark01 problem. Im going to download service pack 2 right now and install that.

The I plan to overclock to 2 ghz and prime 95 that for a few hours.

 almost forgot about that foo.
hahaha. yea man, so much stuff to do with this system. i still have to install the antivirus and firewall!

the cooler is pretty nice. load temps are never exceeding 29c. i've been primeing for the last few hours and charting it with speedfan. Dead line right there at 29.

what kind of temps would you get with an xp-120 or xp-90c

May I suggest ZoneAlarm and AntiVir for your free firewall and antivirus needs :)

I never got above 40ÂșC with my 3200 Venice and XP-90 and Ultra Quiet 92mm panaflo even when overclocked to 301x8 with 1.5vCore. Your temps look great!

thanks. im going to use zonealarm and Kaspersky sincei have a full version.

As for overclocking... when i go into the Cell menu (MSI's unique menu for overclocking) it tells me that my multiplier is 5. whats up with that? HT width is up 16 and down 16. fsb is 200. im having a hard time comprehending that. in CPUZ it says im at my stock, whihc is 9x200.

That 5x multiplier is your LDT multiplier that controls the speed of the HTT bus. Just remember to lower that to 4x as soon as you start increasing the HTT speed above 200mhz so as to be sure to keep it below 1000mhz.

alright. keep it below 1000 mhz right. and to determine the HTT bus is that multi X the fsb.

i have a picture of the cell menu, i'll psot it up in a bit.

HT bus speed = LDT multiplier * HTT frequency ~-- Should be >1000mhz
Core processor speed = CPU multi * HTT frequency
Memory speed = HTT frequency * (CPU/RAM divider)

In that BIOS, the FSB is the same as HTT. Technically FSB is not the same as HTT. But for immediate purposes when considering the processor and memory speed alone, it can be considered the same.

which one is which.
HTT frequency = ht frequency
LDT frequency = adjust cpu and fsb frequency
CPU multi = unchangeable.

HTT frequency = "Adjust CPU FSB Frequency"
LDT multi = "HT Frequency"
CPU multi = ?
It's probably under "Adjust CPU VID or maybe "Adjust CPU Ratio". Or maybe it's down the list farther or something.

MSI seems to have some wierd naming schemes for those settings. Kinda confusing. Sorry.
