Everything is passive with the exception of the PSU. Heat isn't a problem, thus the need for air moving around doesn't really matter. there is a small hole in the back around the PSU, the only that thing that put off heat in the first place.

The guy that mounted everything is an over achiever that doesn't understand the concept of ghetto.

Ghetto mic, ghetto comp... what next!?

Actually passively cooled components rely on the natural air movement inside the case (or enclosure) to keep the heatsinks in check. A passively cooled heatsink in a completely enclosed space with no airflow can (and usually will) cause overheating.

It looks like you have pretty basic components that probably don't produce a lot of heat compared to today's hardware. But still, my point remains that overheating is still possible (if not likely), especially over long periods of operation.

This very old hardware has yet to exceed 40C under load. I'm not worried about it, as long as I can still touch the heatsink without my hand melting to it, screw it. Its not staying the box for long, I'm brainstorming more ingenius, mischievous ideas for this old hardware at this moment!

i would like to see a computer mounted in/bolted on to a box fan.

if you have an old CRT monitor, rip out the guts (dispose of the tube properly) and build it in there. if you feel like over-achieveing pick up an LCD and mount it to the front. it poses unique challenges and was (is) alot of fun.

i built a comp in a 17" and it worked great. at least until i had to give the LCD back. and i am working on a build in a 19" but the components are currently in use by the exchange student my family is hosting.
