| HL's Technomancer | Oh yeah, that. Hey come on, I've been going for about 30 hours straight now gimme some slack ![]() You know, for a plexiglass base you don't need the motherboard standoffs. Those are just for keeping the sodder points of the mobo from touching the metal case and causing a short circuit. A few bolts coming up from the bottom and screwing the board into place is all you need. I'd keep the loop on the same level as the motherboard, simply so you don't have a tangle of tubing and keep it more organized. Just a preference though. |

| Thanks for the input. The only reason I would put the pump at the bottom is so it would never "be out of the water" so to speak. All the bubbles would rise to the res (at the top) like it should. Yeah, I'll have some bolts going though the plexi and that's all like this: ![]() The reason for such long standoffs is in case I put a backplate on for the CPU cooler (so it doesn't warp the board). | OK, update time! I went to Ace Hardware and got some aluminum flat bar, screws, nuts, and washers. I then went about making the braces because it was really unstable. ![]() ![]() ![]() I also modded my old HDD cage from my Lian Li to fit into the Tech Station. \All I did was drill an additional hole to match up with the holes I previously drilled. ![]() So that's pretty much all I did. I'll finish the rest of the braces tomorrow and maybe get all my components of it. ![]() E8400 DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL 4GB G.Skill 800MHz Sapphire Radeon HD3870 512MB Silverstone DA650W WD 250GB + Seagate 320GB |

| Yep, I'm gonna hack saw all the bolts to size. And yes, I'm gonna file the ends of the braces down. I'm also thinking about spray painting it, so I can hide some of my mistakes. In addition, I need to make a radiator mount and maybe something to secure a PSU. I also made some motherboard standoffs out of some nylon posts and nylon bolts: ![]() But I spaced out at the hardware store and only got 7, not 9. ![]() E8400 DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL 4GB G.Skill 800MHz Sapphire Radeon HD3870 512MB Silverstone DA650W WD 250GB + Seagate 320GB Last edited by gvblake22; November 6th, 2007 at 07:34.
