| True. A while back, I believe it was MPC that used a cheap method of pencils and 2 rubberbands (like 1/2"-1" thick) to suspend the drive in mid-air (a Raptor BTW). It was apparently incredibly quiet. But not LAN-party friendly of course. But ghetto-rigging FTW! - Core 2 Quad Q6600 - DFI Infinity 975X - 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800 - 250GB Seagate 7200.10RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM - ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB - Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W - Acer 19" P191W Monitor - Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution - Vista Ultimate x64 |

It's true that suspended drives are really quiet, but most computer games don't really care that much about noise with their 219820820³ CFM fans. | |

| It's not that ghetto, leaving the drive loose inside the case hanging by the cables. That's ghetto! I've done it before, I'm so ashamed. || AMD Athlon64 3800+ Venice | Asus A8N5X s939 | OCZ Premier PC3200 Du-Ch 1GB | Sapphire X1600Pro 512MB PCI-e | 1xWD 80Gb & 1xWD 250Gb Sata(s) | Antec SLK3800B Case | Enermax NoiseTaker 485W || |

| I believe someone wrote to MPC and suggested using some kind of rubber stud instead of rubber bands.. I can't remember what they're called though. That's what I'd look into if I was mounting my HDD in the optical bay. |

| I bet these will do fine as a replacement for the rubber bands. Or you can pull some out from an old jacket/winter coat. || AMD Athlon64 3800+ Venice | Asus A8N5X s939 | OCZ Premier PC3200 Du-Ch 1GB | Sapphire X1600Pro 512MB PCI-e | 1xWD 80Gb & 1xWD 250Gb Sata(s) | Antec SLK3800B Case | Enermax NoiseTaker 485W || |
