| Colonel Calamity | I have used that before and many of those programs were created before widescreens became so big so they tend to not look properly on widescreens. There is supposed to be some updated programs that can do it properly nowadays. I have heard of this program but do not know how well it works: Downloads - Slideshow Screensaver Designer 1.0 Freeware Software ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! Now here's what you need to do. What is the motherboard model # or laptop Model #? Barring that, what is the onboard video chipset? Intel extreme? Nvidia? You can download and install updated drivers that will allow the on board video adapter different resolutions that should include wide aspect resolutions. If that fails, a new video card would do the trick. Hell, even the low end 8xxx series and 7xxx series cards usually support wide screen monitors. Just make sure the new card has a DVI out. | Colonel Calamity | I have a ATI 9600XT that is handling 1440x900 just fine, previously for testing I had a nvidia MX440 running at this same resolution. the problem is not the video card, it is the monitor. Run it at its native resolution of 1440x900 and find a slideshow program that can automatically crop or shrink pictures to size. The problem is the program, not your resolution. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| Colonel Calamity | when this happens, go to the website of the monitor manufacturer and install the driver for your monitor, at this point the monitor resolution of 1440x900 should come available. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair!
