Rebuilding RAID 1 is simple and your RAID utility does it automatically if there is a problem.
Now going from the 80gb drives to the 320gb drive, what I will do is, simple connect all the drives and do a drive copy from the 80gb drives to the 320gb drives. Or I can make a ghost image of the 80gb drives array, save it to the network, plug in the new drives, configure them in RAID and then copy the image to the new 320gb array.

@ tyreal: That thread about the maxlines.....The raptors beat them in seek time in EVERY case. The read write times are generally close to eachother. Simply the Raptors are 10,00rpm and the maxlines are 7,200. Mechanically, the raptors are faster. For some people, the raptors are too expensive, but people who believe this have not used a Raptor, or 2 or 3 pr 4! :D

Thats what I was thinking. But the maxlines are very nice looking if you don't have the money for the raptors. You can see my post there. The idea of raid 0+1 is very appealing.

I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220

The main problem with Maxtor drives are their issues with the NF4 chipset....I've personally given up on Maxtor drives for that reason.
As for great drives, i personally love the Hitachi 7200 DeskStar drives and the seagate 7200.9 drives....they are plenty fast
