| As a former Maxtor employee, I must stress that SATA II does NOT mean 3.0Gb/s. Some SATA II drives do support this, but marketing says that if you leave it off, people will assume it does. I would stick with the Seagate drive, based on past reliability and performance. -- my $.02 EDIT: and by the way ALL SATA II drives use NCQ... it's part of the specification. ____________________________ _= AMD 2700+ OC'd to 3200 =_ -=1GB RAM, ATI 9600XT 512MB=- -------------------------------- |

| Modder-ator | I've had five different Seagate Barracuda drives so far (all different generations, connection types, and capacities) and have been very happy. Not one has failed (the only non-Seagate drive I got was the one that failed, a 74GB Western Digital Raptor) and all have been very quick and quiet. And the best part is they have one of the longest warranties around. |

| BTW, your PSU rating is not 230V. That's the power system that runs in other countries (aka, not the US). If you're in the US, that red switch should be to 110V (or whatever it is). Find out the model of the PSU (open the case and look). - Core 2 Quad Q6600 - DFI Infinity 975X - 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800 - 250GB Seagate 7200.10RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM - ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB - Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W - Acer 19" P191W Monitor - Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution - Vista Ultimate x64 |

| I'd get the Seagate for the simple fact that it carries a 5-year warranty. | Functional Alcoholic | Or Canada. I am pretty sure, North America is the only Continent that uses 110V. Everyone else in the world uses 220V. Unless you travel outside of the US you probably won't ever worry about it. If you do ever travel out of the US most people completely forget about the 220V difference. You then have to worry about dual voltage appliances, and power transformers. Real PITFA. Thankfully most of my computer stuff is Dual Voltage so I don't worry about it too much. |

| Colonel Calamity | I have been using WD for years and years without a problem. I have a 512MB WD Caviar drive that still runs great. I have a 40GB WD that is just now on its last leg after running for the past 4 years 24/7. I have had Maxtors and Seagates and Fujitsus and whatever else die at various times while the WD keeps on kicking. I have a 80GB version of that WD drive and it has been running 24/7 since I put it in a month or two ago. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair!
