I wouldn't know I don't use Verizon. It was my neighbor that had it and was having issues so my friend typed out some instructions

oh well, thanks a lot for the effort anyway... i just cut the verizon off, as soon as contract expire and go time warner cable...

FYI, WAN stands for Wide Area Network. The WAN jack on a DSL modem is just used to connect to the ISP.

OIC I thought it was a different physical connector. Now that I look at it, my DSL modem has a WAN jack and it's a RJ45. I bought a special cable for DSL though.

Verizon has me bummed out, my house is 2000FT too far(and I live in a dirty, highly populated area filled with commerce) to get the 7.1\1.5mbps package with static IP/ I called them numerous times, even switched to a business account. 7.1\1.5 would pwn. Our new home in NC is going to be wired with Fiber in case the companies expand up the mountain. So boo to verizon for sucking.
