| yes, my laptop is connected too... and i'm not using a third party router... heating issue is no more coz i drilled a big hole all over my modem for better airflow... and the tech support made it clear that they cannot send a tech for the line but they did a remote line test... | I gather the Westell Versalink 327W is a modem/router/AP all-in-one unit? Do you have access to the "DSL Transceiver Statistics" page? Can you see what type of DSL you have? ADSL? ADSL2? ITU G.992.X? Verizon may have switched you from ADSL to ADSL2, which uses different frequencies. If you have older filters on your phones this may be the problem. Is your DSL modem plugged into the phone wiring at the demarcation point or is it just pluged into a phone jack? How many phone jacks are in your house? Do they all have filters on them (all of those with phones anyways)? If you're looking at buying another modem the Siemens SpeedStream 4200 units are pretty good, although sometimes ISPs put crappy "special" firmware on them (but that can always be "fixed"... ;) ) Workstation: P5WD2-P | 945D | 2x 1GB | X1950Pro XF | 4x Raptor 74G - RAID 0 | Lite-On SOHD-16P9S | Plextor PX-716A Laptop: Dell 640M | T2050 | 2x 512MB | 120GB | intel A/B/G | Bluetooth File Server: P5GDC | 330J | 2x 512MB | X700pro | Promise S150 SX4 w/256MB | 4x Seagate 200GB RAID 5 Other: Linksys WRT54GL | Linksys EG008W | LaserJet 1320n w/144MB |

| i got it blondie, but the tech that came over the apt said that never to use the 6100 due to many issues between the modem and third party router, so i'm using the verzalink 327w, which i metioned after the new phone jack installation only drops 10-20 a DAY not 10-15time a MINUTE... thank you for the PM anyway... the 6100 have very different config versus the Verzalink 327W btw...
