Thanks, that's what I'll probably end up doing for now. As for the toys, I am trying to have as much fun as I can around here bfore I ship off to Texas for basic training come winter!

And you'll probably be able to afford them while you're in the service. A little birdy told me that they make decent money ;-)

Wee, this thing is fast, but my stupid mobo doesn't support SATA2. I guess I'll order a SATA2 RAID controller PCI card eventually and pick up another HD.

What do you guys think of this one:

From what I understand, Promise is THE brand of Raid controllers, both integrated and otherwise.

Might be; I wouldn't know about RAID controllers. :P

If you really want to know, then ask Hitman. He knows a lot about RAID.

Oh man, Promise is one of the best raid controllers out there, hands down!!!! They pretty much started the trend of being able to Raid for the home user, oh I don't remember, around 2000 or 2001. Some of the mobo's were, Gigabyte ga7-vaxp, Msi kt3 ultra. Even earlier than that was the Asus kt 133 series of mobo's.

Yea man, that is a good raid controller, and not a bad price.
