| I'm Evil | Resolution is extremely important, but don't forget response times....especially if you are a gamer. Also, look for reviews of those monitors as each one has distinctive strengths and weaknesses...some have poor black leevels, some are prone to bleed through....etc......just make sure you research your choices so you aren't caught with any surprises INTEL QX9650 ASUS P5E3 Premium 4GB DDR3-1600 Sapphire HD 3870X2 Danger Den Tower-26 (Custom W/C) 5 x Seagate 250GB HDD in RAID5 BFG ES 800W PSU |

| T-Rex | 1920x1200, you mean Drew. :P Definitely go under 12ms. Furthermore, i'd say under 8ms even. I switched from a 19inch 8ms monitor to this 22inch 5ms monitor and really, i'm not any better in games. I can't say i'm the best gamer around but I like to think i'm not the worst either. Even on my favorite game, the ever so fast paced Quake 3 I noticed no difference and Lord knows I don't play easy in this one. Like Capper said, watch for "legit" reviews before buying, don't be scared to ask questions to the company itself too. |

| resident headbanger | This is what I ended up buying from newegg. Sceptre 19" widescreen w/8ms with 700:1 contrast ratio, 1440x900 resolution. It was on sale for 179.00. I hope that this is a good buy. I never heard of Sceptre before, but all of the reviews are good on newegg. What do you guys think? -1 I would rather read a NewEgg review than a [H] review |

| That monitor seems ok.. But try to not to trust newegg reviews by people...especially when you see someone talking about dual core proccessors and HD speed on a page for a power cable... The monitor may have been made by someone else to, look up the UL part number to be sure Opteron 64 165--1.5GB DDR--ECS KA1 MVP(thanks HL!)--x1800GTO 256MB--Seagate 320GB SATA--Antec 550 Watt--Antec P180 |

| resident headbanger | I figure with 112 reviews on the monitor and 3 bad reviews, the rest all positive, someone on there has to know what they are talking about. But it is bought so I will see when it gets here. -1 I would rather read a NewEgg review than a [H] review |

| The thing about LCDs is that most of the panels are manufactured by a very few companies. If you stick with a respectable brand and check the specs and overall ratings, you probably won't go wrong. Sceptre, while not as well respected as companies like Viewsonic, is a reputable manufacturer. Most people will never be able to tell if it has 100% color accuracy and such. As long as you are happy with how it looks you've got nothing to worry about. Enjoy! | Modder-ator | DAMNIT! I had typed out a HUGE post with all kinds of links and stuff while I was at work, and then the internet died and didn't come back up before I had to leave. I guess that's what I get for surfing the forums at work ![]() Anyway, since it looks like you already bought a monitor, so anything I say isn't really very relevant anymore. But I wanted to let you know that not all games like running in widescreen resolutions very well. Check out THIS for a list of games and their widescreen support, you might be in for a suprise. But I have never owned a widescreen monitor, so I'll let some of the other people here who have a widescreen post their thoughts on the subject... |

| I've only encountered a few games that didn't support widescreen natively or with a patch. That's just my experience with a small cross section of games.
