Well, a lot of it can come from wanting more functionality with more buttons or a different/better feel. Plus the fact that there are so many different varieties of wireless mice each with widely varying degrees of performance, battery life, and reliability.

Why would you need a battery in a mouse/ksyboard that is used a lot? I don;t get that...
Dead batteries sound worse than a $20 mouse that works 24/7 provided the PC is turned on.

oh well personal preference

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Wireless mice have to have a battery of some kind. Some use regular AA or AAA batteries while others use a removable rechargeable and others have a built in rechargeable.

But I would agree with you, batteries tend to weigh the mouse down and will eventually run out causing degraded performance over time. But obviously lots of people find that having one or two less cables running across their desk is worth it. :dontknow:

I'd love to have one. I just can't justify the expense.

maybe once the DisplayPort and others take hold to where there is a reduction in wires, I personally don't have a need yet
