is it suppose to sound different from my other satalites? (quality wise) or should it sound the same. is this kind of warped distortion intentional? *sry for double post* also i'm running on windows vista..should i go back to win xp? thx

Well it's not supposed to be distortion, but normally it should be fainter than the left and right satellites.

Ive done some research recently on the best PC speakers taking into consideration value for money and Harman Kardon Soundsticks II have potentially the best music quality you will find in PC speakers, I saw them as cheap as $126 on the net, and the bass is supposed to be inline with high end audiophile systems ... it could all be hype, but once i get mine i can give you first hand testimony! they look pretty cool too!

when i was home in march, i didnt notice any distortion on any of the speakers (i have Z5500's btw) did you try to re-connect all of the plugs and make sure theyre seated?

I've owned the Z5500 set for quite some time, and you should not be hearing distortion from the center satellite. What I would suggest is hooking up one of the surround speakers as a center unit and see if the distortion remains. This will help you determine if the speaker itself is bad, or if it's a software/setting issue, or potentially a faulty pod.

o wow....i did get a defected center speaker. and i lost the reciept................will logitech be able to replace or send me a new center speaker?

Logitech's customer support is stellar, just give them a call they should get you situated. If some reason you do have trouble with the RMA process, shoot me a PM or email and I'll get in contact with them.
