Well don't forget 2 key things:

1) the amount of quality loss (rather noticeable quality loss) depends on what the individual's eye wants its brain to process.
2) the noticeably amount of quality loss depends on the type and quality of the monitor.

You're right but we are talking about the loss of quality through a KVM which is significantly more then the loss through an adapter.

Have you thought of looking into one of THESE?
it would at least help with the USB items

Thanks HL and Corsair!

I have a KVM switch, i think there pretty cool. I did have a issue though...... I needed a keyboard and mouse that was only USB..... I found that there was not enough room to use the Adaptors (PS2 to USB)... I could not plug both of them in at the same time... they were too big. My monitor is LCD and it uses the DVI to VGA adaptor and I dont see any problem..... I have a Saitek keyboard and a Logetic mouse.. both USB.... it works great!!!!

hope it helps.... I payed 32 bucks at TigerDriect..... Trendent is the make I believe...... I can post photos if you need me too??

Nah, I'm familiar with the VGA / USB switches. It's just if I go to DVI, the price skyrockets... I'm looking at going DVI with a new LCD panel monitor (if christmas permits ^^), and if I wanted DVI, my current KVM (vga + ps2) switch wouldn't cut it. I'd have to buy the new one for usb + dvi, which is about triple the price. Maybe there will be some kind of crazy rebate sometime. Thanks anyway, though =)
