It takes a minimum of three drives to run a RAID 5 setup.

All I know is that in BF:2, I'm the first soldier on the map. RAID0 with 2 raptors is def faster then one single drive, how much faster is debatable. Just recently I was running one single 80gb 7200rpm drive, this lasted for about 24hr.

Running RAID 0 is risky because you run twice the chance of losing data. Personally I backup my RAID 0 arrays every couple weeks.

Ah ok, The way raid5 works is that two drives are stripped while the 3rd drive makes a backup of everything 24/7

If you got enough dough, you could try Raid 0+1. It combines the benefits of both raid 0 and raid 1 into one fast and secure raid setup. I've never tried it due to financial issues but my friend told me about it and i've read about it as well.

I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220
