I used to have a Creative setup very similar to that but mine were 5.1, they worked great and had great sound through my SB Live! and Xfi cards... until the wife was vacuuming and caught a wire frying the entire left channel front and back... Now I have the Logitech X-530 (or is it 520?) 5.1 speakers.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Okay by now that head is spinning and why not the choices are plentyful but like all pc component purchase we are not always satisfied with the results. The hunt being one of the best parts about being a DIYer so the hunt continues. If by now you have rightly been convinced to add the .1 to the 2 and keep it below or close to $100 I have another suggestion and another fail safe an audiophile would be proud of...... all things considered of course.

ALTEC LANSING FX4021

you have to think quality any time you hear Altec Lansing or Klipsch to start with those guys gotta rep ya know. Consequently they put a little more thought in to there products than slam bam thank ya mam, it all in the numbers packem rackem and sackem like Logitech. I'm not disking them I have the Z5500 and love them but even Logitech has the exception to the rule. Anyway I recomend you check them out for an outstanding 2.1 system in your price range.

I found the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 system (refurb) straight from Klipsch for $90 before shipping/tax. Should I jump on it?

Yes! That's exactly what I linked and suggested earlier, goofball. And I don't believe tax applies - just shipping. IIRC, it came to $111 shipped when I added it to my cart last night.

If you can find the Klipsch 2.1 ProMedia set in stock and within your budget, or even slightly out of it, do your ears a favor and jump on 'em - I wish I still had my pair.

EDIT: Direct from Klipsch, a factory refurbished 2.1 ProMedia set for $90 + shipping. I wholeheartedly endorse these...

YES. Although, I doubt those are going anywhere. That price should be stagnant.

If you "need" a new set, they're $106 + shipping on Amazon.com

Nice! Be sure and post feedback after you give 'em a test run - I'll PayPal you a penny if you're not blown away.
