The ghosting effect isn't solely a result of the screen being larger, it prettymuch just has to do with the panel's response time (how fast it can change a pixel from pure white to pure black and then back to pure white again). However, if a certain screen has a slower response time (like 16 or 20 ms), then the ghosting effect might be amplified and easier to see on the larger screen just because it is larger and easier to notice compared to say a 19" screen.

Not sure who makes Dell's panels though...

either way the new Samsung 30" screen has a response time of 6ms, but the dell has 14ms. on the samsung the human eye wont see anything, but on the DELL in SOME areas will be noticeable.
