| i dont mind the bigger screens at all :D thing is i cant change my thread title:(:( in any case i think ive pretty much decided if that BENQ is an 8-bit panel, ill go for it. i have some good offers for DELL E228FPW, but im almost 100% sure those are 6-bit panels. SOME have complaints about some gradient problems and noticeable dithering. most say that a little alteration in the settings make all of it unnoticeable. im not sure at this point... 21" monitors are wierd and kind of hard to come buy. im thinking 21" might be the *perfect* spot since in some cases, 22" monitors' pixels do look kind of enlarged, and i agree that 20" monitors' pixels do look small. best in the middle would be 21" and i was originally hoping for one of them anyway. here is one (overprice of course cuz its samsung) Samsung 215TW oddly enough, all of newegg's offerings for 21.1 or 21.3 are also overpriced, no matter the model. they are way higher than 22", some higher than 24" and most getting quite close to 24" prices. ![]() Newegg.com - Niko NIKO-2206 Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor Built in Speakers - Retail that monitor's getting a lot of buzz everywhere and good word! only cons i see everywhere are "speakers are crap" - well of course "rez is only nice and clear at the native rez" - i wonder why? other than that no complaints. it seems like a promising 8-bit panel, as it claims 16.7M colors! Niko 2206W 22" Wide 5ms 700:1 WSXGA+ 1680 x 1050 DVI·VGA Black Widescreen LCD Monitor with Speakers in Canada at TigerDirect.ca ^ there it is at an AMAZING price from a local Canadian Dealer (in america too u know the infamous TigerDirect -- SOMETIMES they do have good deals!) | Modder-ator | I've been eying that Samsung 215TW for a while, it's an amazing monitor (except for the high price). If new monitors weren't going to be available in March I would have bought the 215TW already! |

i want a 21" that isnt so expensive:ahhhhh: ![]() Canada Computers - Your Neighbourhood Computer Store and Service Centre - PC Systems and Hardware Components, Notebooks, Electronics, and more. im thinking that price isnt half bad for a samsung!!!!!! only unfortunate thing is many reviews comment on its backlight being annoyingly noticeable...:( hmm i was wondering... im ruffly 3-4 feet away from any LCD monitor on my desk... is that enuff to make 22" really annoying? | Modder-ator | 3-4 feet isn't very close and should be just fine for a 22" widescreen. The general rule of thumb is to be no closer than the length of your outstretched arm and fingers. |

| wow i'll be fine if i outstretch my arms towards my CRT i barely touch it with my tips. the LCD will be AT LEAST 10 inches further back. alright time to choose the best 22" at that price range. im thinking either BENQ or DELL E228FPW (there is this one amazing Viewsonic, ive seen it in action im in love, its completely adjustable, movable, everything changes height, swivel, tilt, but $409.99 ill get the model soon). | IM BRINGING THIS THREAD BACK! I'll be needing a 20" Widescreen very soon, and need to decide what to get. The first post can still stand, as 22" is a variable option as well. Immediate thoughts are Dell 2007WFP UltraSharp - 8-bit panel, probably the top rated 20" ever. Samsung SyncMaster 226BW - 8-bit panel, probably the top rated 22" ever (well the 225 was, and this has better resp time and is sexier) Other than that, nothing pops into my mind instantly. Problem with those; the price. The DELL I LOVE because it can adjust a LOT! Not to mention every single damn customer is giving it no less than 4.5/5. You can go so many pages into the reviews and not find anything lower. How can you not see that as support. The 6-bit panel brother, 207WFP - not sure how this compares, but some see gradient differences and better colour saturation in games. please let me know what you guys think! Thanks!
