| After my last post, I thought about things and now have a new question. Both my hard drives are setup as NTFS and I was wondering if Ubuntu has a problem with NTFS? Also, if it does, what does that have to do with running the live CD? | It's a liveCD so there shouldn't be any problems with it running with NTFS or any other format. As far as I know, it doesn't even touch the HDD, buy only loads everything into a RAM drive using your memory. I would really recommend verbose mode, it's just a regular boot, except you see line-by-line each item being loaded, OK or Failed, etc... || AMD Athlon64 3800+ Venice | Asus A8N5X s939 | OCZ Premier PC3200 Du-Ch 1GB | Sapphire X1600Pro 512MB PCI-e | 1xWD 80Gb & 1xWD 250Gb Sata(s) | Antec SLK3800B Case | Enermax NoiseTaker 485W || |

| Ok, I was able to select verbose mode. Same results I've had in the past. Got to the desktop then freeze but the mouse works. Nothing is accessable. I did however try the live cd on my old machine and it works. I just don't understand why it doesn't work on my new machine. | I'm Diggin it! | I just wanted to point out how no one has jumped into this thread to say something like, "Just load Windows and you won't have this issue." Windows users make me proud they don't do that stuff in other people's OS thread. ![]() Q6600@ 3.2GHz w/ CNPS9700 | EVGA 780i | 2Gb Corsair DDR2-800 | EVGA GTX 280 1Gb Video | 1x WD 640Gb HDD, 2x Seagate 400Gb HDD, 1x250Gb WD | 2x Samsung SH-203B Opticals | Antec 900 | ABS/Tagan BZ700 700W PSU |

| Colonel Calamity | that is because both hard drives are already NTFS formatted and I assume one already has XP on it.. but the file system they're formatted in shouldn't have any impact on the live CD loading ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | I spent most of yesterday trying to get Ubunutu Live to run on my new machine and it never would, although it would run on the old machine. I downloaded Open Suse Live to see if it would work and it does, so I'm not sure why Ubuntu 6.10 or 6.06 Live doesn't work. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue efforts at this time. I may just wait until I have Vista installed before trying linux again.
