I seem to remember someone telling me that Panda was the best anti-virus available

HA! I told you that two years ago. Before I ever knew about AVG. The "geeks" at the computer store in town said it was the best. It was a lie. A scheme just to get people to pay them $60 for a copy of it... If these people only knew it was a rip off...

I honestly think that Panda isn't all that bad, to be honest. But really, AVG gets the work done so stop searching already. :D

LOL, try uninstalling Panda!!! Worst experience I've ever had was using a trial version of Panda, then trying to uninstall it from my system

Norton has THE absolute worst uninstallion. It leaves behind hundreds of registry keys and several files and folders in the most precarious places. It's so bad that you can't even re-install Norton after you uninstall it!

I didn't have any problem. I've seen tons of failed Norton uninstallation however, some rendering the system unbootable under "Normal mode" thus needing to boot into Safe Mode. Problem is, you can't uninstall Norton under Safe Mode, and even their "manual" uninstallor you can find on Symantec website doesn't work under Safe Mode! Well done. =|

I used norton for a long time. I hated it for the above reasons (resource hog) just to find out later that it's not even effective. It only finds about 60-70% of viruses. the next I used was nod32 and that was much better but still not perfect. Then I read a comparison of 30 antiviruses and the winner (fastest not a resource hog and 100% efective) was kaspersky. Since I use it, I have no problems whatsoever.
