I think it's funny because there are people out there who will make a purchasing decision based on these misleading commercials and then whine and moan when they can't play some new game based on DX10. The fact that the content doesn't reflect the true product will mean nothing to them or the blind-sheep fan base that Mac OS enjoys.

Not taking anything away from a Mac, but when people do stupid things, I'm gonna laugh at them. If someone is idiotic enough to make a buying decision based on these commercials instead of researching the equipment they need for their intended purpose, I'm going to laugh. Plus, all product and accurateness aside, the commercial is just funny.

So I point and laugh at commercials like this.

Now, people basing their buying preferences on these commercials is something to laugh at! But in all honesty, my physics teacher, a friend of mine and I are the only ones who can actually take a hard disk out of a PC or reinstall windows or just do most things that we consider basic, yet I don't know ANYONE who would ever buy a mac, despite these commercials. I think about 80% of the people who see these commercials realize (eventually) that its total BS and will stay away from macs. Over time this will only dimminish the apple name.

I'd buy a Mac immediately if I had the money... I'm that into them.

BTW, most of these commercials are still true, but not entirely. For example, they are telling you to switch to Mac, but switching to Mac will cost MORE than getting Vista because you need a new system. It's just not cost-efficient.

Where it becomes cost-efficient is you not spending so much money on games. Don't get me wrong, I love the Mac OS ever since 8.1, but there are not enough games for the platform to keep me entertained. Windows happens to be a necessary evil for most of us, because not even Linux distros can keep up with the most recent PC games. (and I don't enjoy console games as much as the 'deeper' PC games.)

Are you talking about the one with the Vista security coming between the Mac and PC while the PC has to "allow" any part of the conversation?

Yup. That's the one.

Very true. Support is limited only because other companies are far too lazy to port them to other systems, leaving it in the hands of others (who can't always get a license). Either way, go take a look at an Apple store. You'd be surprised at the decent amount of games ported to a Mac.

Well, I know when I used Vista Beta 2, a popup came up every 10 seconds asking me if I wanted to do something.

I downloaded the beta but never really used it. Maybe I should have my dad pickup a copy of Vista while he's in Taiwan just to mess around... I need to reformat this bugger anyways.
