I admit that I don't like all the ads that MaxPC has but the articles and reviews are still plenty informative.

Well, first of all...Paul is family here...so treat him very nicely. Along with blake he is one of the founding members of HardwareLogic.
Second, being an Editor of Maximum PC, I hardly call him a fanboy......might want to look at his sig....where it says MaxPC staffer......pretty big hint.
Lastly, I think we get the point that you like Linux and don't like Windows Mr X.......lets move on to something else and something helpful. There are plenty of Linux love sites out there, we pretty much focus on windows as thats what 99/9% of our members and readers use.

Ad to content ratio stays fairly consistent - if there's more ads in a particular issue, then there's more content as well. Regardless, we're in good shape, but if that ever did happen, we'll resort to plan B...selling clocks made out of MaxPC CDs:

I was only calling Paul a fanboy to tease him. I know hes a staffer there, which is pretty cool in my opinion.
Let's just be friendly and discuss things nicely around here without going offtopic or starting a scrap.

there will be no scrapping.... there are rules for the forum, and everyone can play nice or we can start handing out "time outs". I think I've been pretty clear in my posts.

Agreed, but I've also been reading magazine like CPU and PC MODDER which have LOTS more information compared to maximum PC with way less ads.

Hi, Lead Head showed me the site, I thought it had lots of potential and so I joined.
I use an obscure but cool OS called BeOS, and I hate microsoft and IE.

That's all fine and dandy, everyone is entitled to read whatever they want. We just don't want anyone bashing someone else because they read/use/like something different than you...
...and no I'm not referring to you as in Mr._X...

I read Maximum PC at school since they get a mondthly sub subscription and I sometimes buy CPU from the drug store if I can spare the money.

I liked MaxPC when I knew less because it was very ****** friendly and they explained all the tech terms. There How-to's were also plenty informative and let me do some pretty cool things.

After learning a bit more about computers I decided to try a new magazine. CPU is very good, they have lots of different sections, including a Linux section.

Nobody is a fan of ads, myself included. However, they make this possible:

MaximumPC Subscription (CD-less)
$12/year ($1/issue)

MaximumPC Subscription Through BestDealMagaizines (CD-less)
$3.99/year ($0.34 cents/issue) w/ coupon code TECHBAR15

The content in MaxPC is excellent at times. How about the issue where they show you how to slip stream service pack 2 into your windows cd, thats great. I'm still waiting for digital issues, you would think a tech magazine would do that wouldn't you? Dang even Playboy can be had digitally.
