| Oh yeah, forgot the Mountain Mods U2-UFO. Price-to-performance ratio is WAY out if wack, but IMO it's an irresistible case. | You know, another case that I am deeply impressed with is the CoolerMaster CM690. For $60.00 bucks (after rebate), this enclosure offers a ton of sweet features that you don't find on comparable cases. |

| Yeah I've heard a lot of hype about the cm690. It seems to be a very nice case for the money, but I'd be willing to spend a little more to get a nicer case. | What else are you looking for in a case that the CM690 does not offer? There isn't too much, if anything, that can make this enclosure much better. |

| I'm not too keen on the looks of it (but that's a minor point). Is the build quality there? Idk I guess I just feel like they must have cheaped out somewhere to have a case with all the features and a low price tag. I guess I'm looking for build quality first. I'm not impressed with my current case so I'd like to upgrade to something that is better quality. I'd like whatever case I choose to be good enough to justify the upgrade. EDIT: After reading the review I decided that I shouldn't rule it out yet. It seems to be built well. The problem is that I'm looking for features that usually don't go together, such as high build quality & moderate price, cools well & quiet & clean. I'll have to make sacrafices somewhere... just not sure where yet. | My current favorite is the Cooler Master Cosmos. It's the one this year's Dream Machine was built-in, and I think I'll be using it for most of my builds. ![]() |

| A Lonely Geek | Silverstone TJ-05 At least up to this point. It is the only case I have owned that is significantly larger than the standard mid-tower...it is a little smaller than a full-tower, which I find to be too tall for my liking. I keep my rig on my desk, and most full-towers are too tall to fit the designated space. Though I have had a ton of cases, there really was little difference between them. Fan size, blow hole, tool-free, stealthing, whatever....there just ain't that much difference in most steel chassis mid towers. Occasionally one I get may have a nice feature, but has another I don't like. But, beggars can't be choosers...I have bought exactly one case...every one after that was for a review. Actually kind of tired of cases right now...I've reviewed five or six cases in the last couple of months. Three in the past four weeks...and one sitting in the box for review in the next couple of days. Only one was significantly different, an HTPC case, that I would never use for my main rig, the cooling sucked. All the others are steel mid-towers with 1-120mm fan front and back, and various side door configurations. |

| So Frank (May I call you Frank?), you don't really see much of a difference between mid-tower cases? What is your advice on picking a case? Thanks :) WhiteEagle, what about the cosmos do you like? EDIT: Ok so I finally decided on a case. I was browsing the internet and I came across a great deal on the Cooler Master RC-690 on zipzoomfly. It comes with free shipping and a $20 MIR (expires today) and is on sale, bringing the total cost after MIR to 39.99!! This made my decision really easy. Should be a decent case for me. Thanks everyone for your help! | Colonel Calamity | I've always loved Antec cases and new builds have almost always had them. I am hoping later this year to pick me up a 900 but my 2 fav cases are the SonataII and the Plusview (which is almost the same as the SOHO10xx series). Mine was the original Plusview but it is still an awesome case fo anything you throw at it. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |
