| Well, I checked my mobo's manual and it said to switch the jumper on the motherboard for the CMOS from 1+2 to 2+3, I did that and pressed the start up and nothing happened, so then i just removed the jumper entirely, and it started up. Of course i still didnt have any video. So i guess i'll try removing everything. But wow that case is tight, i seriously have to remove everything to even remove the gpu. I'll post later whats happened. And no i havent gone to watercooling, that case was way expensive. EDIT:::::::::: Ok so i disconnected everything, then reconnected the mobo only and started it up, still no video. Then stuck in RAM and started - no video. Connected video card -- no video onboard or on gpu, then conected other things, no video at all. I did notice that one of the cpu cooler push-pins had come loose, reconnected that and still nothing. I really think it is freezing on startup from something, but i cant tell from what, I know i can switch the dpi on my mouse for about 10 seconds when the computer is starting up, but then it freezes (or so i think) and then neither the keyboard nor mouse work (then again i dont know since i cant see anything.). | Modder-ator | Where exactly is it freezing? Is it the POST (Power On Self Test) screen or on the Windows load screen or in Windows? Do you ever get any Video? As for the clearing the CMOS, the proper procedure is to remove the battery. Then move the jumper from pins 1 & 2 to 2 & 3 and leave it there for like 30 seconds. Then move the jumper back to the default pins 1 & 2and replace the battery. Also, dumb question, but have you double checked the video connections to your monitor? Maybe try another monitor? And when using onboard video, you need to remove the video card. You can't just connect the VGA cable to the motherobard video and leave the 7900 in the PCI-Express slot. | T-Rex | Have you took the board out? I've seen plenty of problems where the cause was some short between the mobo and the case. Random rambling: Just lately, a computer wouldn't connect to the internet. The onboard LAN would be detected half the time in Windows, and sometimes the option to enable/disable it was even disapearing in the BIOS (in the integrated peripherals section). I tried to add a PCI network card, wouldn't work. It was detected, it was installed but the IP stayed at 169.54.XXX.XXX. At last I got the board out, and that's when I saw a spacer located right where the chipset would be, there was no holes for it! I tried the board flat on a cardboard box and poof, internet was magically working now. :P |

| Well tried all that stuff nothin worked, still no video. Although the computer did like flicker on then immeadiately shut off then like 5 seconds later turned on. But yea polobunny, that actually kinda sounds like my problem, the whole shorting out (i put together a comp for my dad's boss shorted out on the case, did the same type of start-up shut down thing). i'll try tomorrow. | resident headbanger | You have all of your pinouts connected right? I got my start button pins crossed with the reset pins wrong and it wouldnt turn on. Check your pin outs that may be where your problem is. -1 I would rather read a NewEgg review than a [H] review |
