The system in my signature with an X1950Pro, Athlon64 X2 3800, 2x1GB DDR2-800 RAM, three HDD's (two being 10,000 rpm) and other assorted peripherals never consumes more than 250W, and that value is measured (by me) directly from the outlet by a Kill-a-Watt meter.

And remember that external hard drives are (almost always) powered by an external power adapter and really draw nothing from the computer in terms of power. The USB cable is for data transfer only.

750w it is, then =D. Though, do you guys think that squeezing another 8800GTX in there would require more than 750? I won't be considering that for a long time, just wondering....

I think this should answer the question...

Heh, I suppose it does. The power calculator has led me to believe that my system is close to maxing 750w...

I really doubt it. After seeing that power consumption measurements taken by individuals and reputable review sites all over the internet never top 400W or so, I really, REALLY doubt any normal top of the line system available today would ever consume 750W...

Well thanks indeed. Seems I'm quite set with my PSU. I even have room to add peltier cooling, if I ever get that far.
