I've been using Antec power supplies for years now and i've never had a problem with any of them. Currently in my main rig i have a SP 550W which is fantastic. Apparently the True Power 550W is also very good and has a great reputation. My buddy has the SP450 and he said its pretty good as well. So it looks like whatever you choose, you won't be sorry. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220

A True Power is exactly what I fried............;) But then again, I've been using Antec components off and on for almost 20 years and only killed 1 PSU

tsk tsk, you shouldn't be going around frying PSU's now, it's plain ol PC abuse, lol :P Pretty much, even with the best of products, discrepencies should be expected, as the quality and R&D departments of each manufacturer anticipate a defect percentage that gets out......the overall verdict on what we consider great quality PSU's like the TP II 550 is that is performs well and is rock-solid......I would definitely put my trust in Antec products, as I've used them before in building other systems and have always had good results, even with those "custom" OC jobs. but hey, s**t happens with PC components, right? ![]()

not too surprising, as I think that the production work (thus manpower needed) that goes into making and assembling PSU components is fairly undesirable, thus making for a jaded, uncaring work ethic, thus poorer quality than what was once reached.....of course the compacting of technology can also cause some issues, but work ethic can be taken into consideration as well IMO. You also have to consider that this opinion is coming from someone who has worked nothing but manufacturing jobs for the past 3 years and is most definitely ready to either sit behind a desk or be stuck in a wiring closet or PC repair station for the next 20 years, lol. yeah, manfacturing work sucks, lol

well, basically I dicided on antec - have a choice of the TP550 which is great for sure (I read numerous reviews and seen lots of awards it got)-it would be more future proof also.... but, the 450 is pretty good also and for $60 less. still thinking. depends on something I would like to pull off but am not sure yet if it will work. will get back after I found out... I don't want to spoil it beforehand and talk about it till I know the outcome ![]() Main rig: Chieftec modded case,MSI P4N Diamond, D830@3.48Ghz,1.4V,928FSB 2GB patriot Extreme Performance 6400@900Mhz, 4-4-4-17 Inno3D 7900GT@542Mhz/1.6Ghz, Thermalright SI-97 Samsung 320GB, Maxtor 250GB; Antec 500W Swiftech NB, Asus StarIceBlue CPU cooler; XP Pro Laptop: Dell XPS 1530 (T7500; 3GB 667 RAM; 160GB 7200rpm HDD; 8600GT; Vista 32bit) my 6800LE mod
