Oh, I would also like to share with you a comment my cousin made about WiC:

"Its like a Counter Strike of RTS games"

You can join in and be just as powerful as someone who's been playing for an hour (less the Tactical Points)

We are all entitled to our opinions, different people prefer different game styles, graphics and gameplay

What did you dislike so much about it anyway?

I found it generally over hyped, the overly symplistic tech trees made the game feel like it was calling me a retard, almost no diversity between factions except for the super weapons really, the AI was hardly a capable opponent, let alone a competent one, and it was way to buggy to be released when it was. Personally, the whole game feels like every penny was dumped into quantity over quality and fails to deliver remotely as fun of an experience as say Company of Heroes or Command and Conquer. I suppose I just never bought into the "more is better" theme of the entire game but thats all just IMHO.

Thats what makes SupCom so much better than many of the other RTS games, rather than having 50 level of tech and average graphics and poor/average gameplay, they chose to stick with the "strategy" portion of it. It is called Real Time Strategy for a reason. The Civ series was great until 3 but it just got tiring, the same boring long winded tech trees that had the same tried and true way to zip through them and conquer the world within a matter of an hour or two with certain key units that demolished everything the enemy had. No real strategy other then the tech tree itself, not the gameplay.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

So did you like C&Q3 more than Supreme Commander? I've never played Company of Heroes, but it doesn't really look like a game that would appeal to me much.

Personally, I liked CofH more than SUPCOM, but I really don't compare them...two totally different games. I guess SUPCOM is more of a nostalgia thing with me, along with it's simplicity for newbys to RTS.

I enjoyed it quite a bit more actually. The game play was very tight and balanced (with actual different units for each fraction). IMHO it had far more of a classic feel then SupCom (C&C and Battle for Dune were some of the first RTS I played)

And if you get a chance, for the love of god try Company of Heroes!!! It's still probably the best RTS I've had a chance to play in the past 2 years.
