From the games website:

Quote:
AMD Athlon 64x2 4800+ or Intel Core 2 Duo, 1Gb RAM, 3D Hardware Accelerator Card Required - 100% DirectXR 9.0c compatible 256MB (Geforce 7800, for example).
It should be noted that at the start of the game development our initially targeted system requirements were much lower. As a result (and due to the lengthy game development) the game can be played well on lower-end systems (the game ships with two renders - DirectX 8 and DirectX 9 one).
Additionally, the game allows to scale various options for optimal performance. For the maximum quality and performance, the more powerful system you have, the better.
That is recommended hardware.

Here's the minimum:

Quote:
Microsoft® Windows® XP (Service Pack 2)/Microsoft® Windows® 2000 SP4 ; Intel Pentium 4 2 Ghz/AMD XP 2200+ ; 512 MB RAM ; 10 GB available hard drive space ; 128 MB DirectX® 9c compatible card/ nVIDIA® GeForce 5700/ATI Radeon® 9600 ; DirectX® 9 compatible sound card ; LAN/ Internet connection with Cable/DSL speeds for multiplayer ; Keyboard, Mouse. ; RECOMMENDED SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400/AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ ; 1 GB RAM or better ; 256 MB DirectX® 9c compatible card/ nVIDIA® GeForce 7900/ ATI Radeon® X1850.

Q6600@ 3.2GHz w/ CNPS9700 | EVGA 780i | 2Gb Corsair DDR2-800 | EVGA GTX 280 1Gb Video | 1x WD 640Gb HDD, 2x Seagate 400Gb HDD, 1x250Gb WD | 2x Samsung SH-203B Opticals | Antec 900 | ABS/Tagan BZ700 700W PSU

So what you're saying is, I should give it a shot if I want? I mean, I always figured I would have a fair amount of time to use my system for games before I would run into problems. My OC'd 3700/7800GT setup did more than a fair job with FEAR with all the video settings cranked up, more so than I would've thought, so I can't imagine this game would be a whole lot different. I've been thinking of getting BF2142 as well, but things are tight right now, so I might have to wait.

XP SP2, AMD 3700+, 2GB RAM, 7800GT DirectX 9.0c, more than enough HDD space, no sound card though...all the rest...I should be able to run it.

If it's not fixed, then don't broke it!

OH hell yeah you can run it...my Dragonmodz case has a xp3000 with a x1300 and not one issue....That pissed me right off!

Before the patch Vista had major issues, after...eh a bug that shuts the game off randomly on save game. This was a new system, C2D e6600, OCZ 8800 GTX, crucial balistix 800.

Now the mid range system with xp 3500+, 7900 gt (Sli), corsair XMS, DFI board... worked out ok...a weird slow down in multi player happens in sli mode. out of SLI no issues.

Now I know this is an old thread but I have played the single player and multi and both are very decent in my book. Yes I am recomending this game...the multi is very much like CS:S. Bying equipment before spawn and the higher your experiance the more gear you can use.

here goes...

Graphics: 7-8/10, nothing special, especially the trees/leaves look horrible. COD2 is in a lot of ways better graphically. i would say its closest match is COD2, but JUST barely. R6V, for example. kills it in this department.

Gameplay: 8-8.5/10
, thing is its really weird compared to other shooters...i definitely dont like the fact that you cant kill people without a hard time...

AI: no more than a 7/10 if that
: the people are kind of stupid sometimes; running into buildings with 3 "enemies" and leaving the rest for you isn't my idea of a helpful colleague

Sounds: 8-9/10
, not too bad. the interactive sounds of the speaking and gunshots and stuff are satisfying enough and DEFINITELY add more to this game (cuz it needs more).

Bugs/Annoyance Levels (higher = worse): about 7/10.
definitely needs to be reworked. i have v1.0001, and although SOME things are "FIXED", there are still some spelling errors as previously mentioned, the the little "pops" when walking/running, and sometimes during gun fights can get annoying over time.

Overall
(using 3/10 to average out for the "Bugs/Annoyances secion, cuz i can't use 7 being that it would only increase the score when that portion is bad when its higher): about 6.8-7/10 (because i used some low, some high values to calculate the average). definitely too anticipated for what it turned out to be. with some GOOD updates, this game will score higher. i mean who's to say that AI and graphics cant be "enhanced" by updates...hope to see it soon. at LEAST the SPELLING errors to START! that might bring the annoyance level from 7 down to a *better* 6.5.

anyway, this was my little mini review.

would i recommend it? sure...its definitely not a HORRIBLE game...a lot of games on my list of tryouts would score worse than a 7. this game isnt horrible, but isnt marvelous. COD2, for example, at the point in time of where i am now in this game, probably wouldve scored around a 9-ish, and probably still does. R6V is definitely high, at least 9, i LOVE that game.

im hoping to get Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Spiderman 3 soon, i REALLY want to see those in action with my XBOX 360 Controller that i have as my gamepad.

happy reading

I just don't really understand the whole story of the game; minutes after starting I was trying to figure out what to do (not to mention I kept dying at that car park place).

It's still pretty nice though in that the game isn't really linear and offers some variety in gameplay.

Still trying to figure out what the hell those 'nuke' things are when you sometimes run over big stretches of land xD

Those are Anomalies.
Quote:
Anomalies persist throughout the Zone, and are going to be a minor annoyance to you throughout the game. There are a variety of anomalies around, which will update in your PDA’s Encyclopedia section when you encounter them, or shortly thereafter. The most dangerous one to you will usually be the Vortex, which is a suction anomaly that will suck you into its heart as you pass by and cause damage through minor explosions. It’s possible to escape from a Vortex after getting caught up, by running or jumping out of its pull, but it’s difficult to do so. It’s best to simply avoid them altogether; they’re tough to spot, but if you look close, you’ll see the air pulsating around them. This is also true of the Whirligig and Springboard anomalies.
Keep in mind that your anomaly detector will start to click when you near an anomaly, even if it’s not of the easily-seen sort. You also have an unlimited supply of bolts (6 button) to throw around to see if anomalies are present, but they’re usually unnecessary.
Artifacts are usually to be found near dense concentrations of anomalies, which can sometimes make it lucrative to explore near them. Just try not to sprint full-bore when you’re near anomalies, as it’s easy to run straight into a Vortex and get killed for your carelessness.

My suggestion is read the first 3 pages of this:
