At the end of the day wev'e come across games like this in the past haven't we?
Far Cry anyone?
That game was just as hard on systems back in it's day.

It's the same old story here.
Not poor coding just a game which is tough on systems.

May also be a marketing scheme to get gamers to upgrade thier PC?

After trying STALKER on the new build I have come to the conclusion that the game just sux.It runs "ok" but still has some hiccups now and again. The blackout sessions are gone though.I expected better graphics from the game, and a better layout. This one will be going to eBay for it's final resting place. It will be replaced by Far Cry,Halo2, and Half Life2 with deathmatch included.Next will be COD4 when the price comes down a wee bit more.As far as Crysis...when the nightmare is patched up,I will enjoy giving it shot for sure.

Just because a game is buggy doesn't mean its not a good game. I mean, look at BF2142. I tried for 2 hours trying to get it working, and when I finally did, it crashed after a second map load. But there are still tons of people who play it. I still like it, its just not worth the time to get it working

What if I applied your logic to OS's like XP? Some people have regular crashes, but its still used by something like 90+% of the developed world.

Maybe I'm biased, I loved S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Faikie's mod made it all so much better.

ok...after further review,I have decided the game isnt for me.It falls short of my expectations in every form.Although it ran somewhat better on the new build,it still had it's downs.

Man, I love stalker... I've been playing through it for the 3rd time now, lol, (first time with the patches though, it's a completely different game at the end, what with your armor actually degrading and stuff... no more running around with the same SEVA suit the whole game, lol. )

Definatly not a game for everyone though... it does have it's quirks and bugs... (like when an important npc decided the best way to get to a camp involved going through a brick wall... he did manage to get halfway through it though... but that sorta killed him and that mission too. Oh well, lol.)
