Oh wow, didn't know that!!! My experience is not even close to that, I mean I have been in some sort of that type of trade most of my life, My dad was a machinist and a jig builder for Boeing for lots of years, and had all the toys and tools in our own garage, so I did a lot of learning from him and then got into it myself at about 18 or so. Did that off and on until I was late 20's and then went into the construction trades. I really have missed the machinist trade though, it is neat to take a piece of raw metal and make something out of it.

I'm third generation machinist. My grandfather made the molds for the model T's fenders and my dad did it his whole life. I tell ya what though after 35 years it was seldom that I saw anything new. I ran everything from large horizontal boring mills that were sitting on 8 feet of reinforced concrete to a Hardinge tool room lathe that could hold tolerance's of .0001.

That a hell of a lathe, I mean one that can hold a tolerance of one ten thousand's :rock:

I like the guys that play during the Day :) cause thats evening time for me. I thought those guys were the only ones that ever played.
