The only time I notice lag if is the person hosting the game has a bad connection. Xbox live is really no different then say counterstrike, or any other multiplayer game. If the host's connection is bad or flakey, yours will be to.

the real only criticism i have with xbox live is the fact that they charge a premium to play online. I mean you can say yeah sure you got to pay the internet bill to go online on PC, but thats usually it. Ok MMO's charge a monthly fee, but i don't have to pay more than my internet bill to play CoD4 online. The xbox live fee is a fee ontop of the basic fee. Thats why i think personally Sony and Nintendo have this figured out. But Xbox's online layout it still considered the best

This x-box live is a bit silly really. When you buy a microsoft console and games you dont expect to have to play even more money to play them to their full potential. The PS3 online is free, which is good, but if someone sends you a message while your in a game you have to compleatly quit the game to read it!! Please say something if there is a way to read it without quitting...
