Actually if you're a star wars freak like i am, i've been recently playin KOTOR. picked upStar Wars: The Best of PC with Empire at War, Kotor, Battlefront 1, Jedi Outcast II, and Republic Commando. Also includes a trial for Star Wars Galaxy, but i wouldn't jump into that personally. Great value at 39.99 imo.
Ha! I refuse to play WoW. I feel as though Blizzard has betrayed itself with WoW. But hell yeah on all the Star Wars stuff. I loved all the Dark Forces games (Dark Forces, Jedi Knight - Dark Forces II, JK Mysteries of the Sith, Jedi Knight II, Jedi Knight II - Jedi Academy) and the simulators (X-Wind, TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance). I recently got KOTOR I, but I was less than impressed with it. Maybe KOTOR II is better? I felt it didn't have a lot of personality. I did play Empire at War, which was kinda cool.

No Orange Box thus far? Game stop had it up for $30 last week, and has a full list of included games...to include Portal which is such a great twist in a genre that First Person Puzzle could be generated.

Comes with HL2 Episodes 1 and 2, TF2, Portal; each game really being worth $30 IMO. If you already have HL2, then you can gift it to someone that doesn't and spread the wealth of such an awesome game.

No LL Paul!?

Leisure Suit Larry might be too demanding - I had to upgrade from a 286 to a 386 just to get playable framerates in the VGA remake of Leisure Suit Larry 1: Land of the Lounge Lizards!

The music...it's hypnotizing! How many can't whistle that out of sheer brainwashing LL1 had on ya.

The toughest thing I remember was not walking in the roads or you get hit. Usually after getting a few drinks at Lefty's. Well, actually, it was all the sound settings and ports you actually had to research to get it to run! SB16 was nice...

Sid Miers Pirates! - simple fun game

Pirates of the Caribbean with build mod 13 -best ship battles out of any pirate game i've played, build mod improves replayability

Medieval 2 Total War and Kingdoms Expansion - Awesome Game, huge battles, i reccomend downloading Darth Ages Mod for even better gameplay but thats just my opinion

Civilization 4 - I don't know, i didn't really like it, but i could'nt stop playing

I loved the first 3 of the Civ games but the 4th just strayed too far from the series to be enjoyable. In itself it is ok/mediocre but nothing great. Rome Total War was fun for a short time but it is a lot like all other RTS games out there so it gets old fast.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

I just got Frontlines: Fuel of War from a friend. It's an OK game I think, which sadly misses some realism in the only thing that really matters in a modern first person shooter: The guns shoot like crap.
There's no way to get a decent aim with the basic sub machine gun and it doesn't look like you're shooting bullets but rather "sparks".
Graphically it's a nice game. I can play in 1920x1200 resolution with a 8800GT just fine at high settings, although sometimes the frame per second drops to 45, which is hardly noticeable in game due to the post-FX adding fluidity.
Story is a tad boring after a while. After the first mission or so there's a cutscene and the guys tell you it's the 3rd world war starting. I was almost happy, I thought that would make up for some nice fights. It makes up for repetitive tasks.
I give the game a 7 on 10.

I've never really done the online thing - mostly just FPS solo when I have time.

I tried to replay Crysis (played before on smaller monitor) but I couldn't get it to run correctly. Uninstalled and now it won't install. Tried to install old standby FarCry, but it wouldn't install either on Vista 64. Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (never played) wouldn't install either.

Found Act of War, Panzers 1, Commandos and put them on yesterday but no time to play. After success of Christmas (wife picked up Bioshock/Crysis and COD4 based on my wishlist!) with Father's day and B-day a few weeks away I'm thinking of hinting about Assassin's Creed. Maybe Mass Effect too (though I've read there are some DRM problems).

You should defintely look at UT3 it probably the best unreal tournament game that i have seen yet. The worlds are a lot bigger, it runs pretty well on most systems, the online play is pretty good and the server is pretty reliable. The only drawbacks to the game is that if you like snipe your going to have a harder time becuase your character glows your team color so its a little hard to hide. Also the game speed is a lot faster than your usual shooter so it keeps you on your toes
