I did need to run it in compat mode. And I DID need to update the patches. Make sure your video card is updated as well.

I had to use cheats to beat it...anyone that doesn't, my hat's off to you.

I had no problem whatsoever loading and playing it with Vista 64-bit.

No cheat at all here I only had a few issues in that map Volcano as your just about to enter the building for the Matrix style fight with the mercs hanging out behind the pillars and used a few grenades from my G36 to soften them up towards the back line while using the M4 and shotgun up front took care of them. FPS games are my thing though they're pretty easy for me even on the hard levels (usually). Years of quake 3 rail 1v1 and other FPS games always playing on hard level for practice seasoned me well for shooters. It's really all about proper cover-fire technique when taking fire and accurate head shots to minimize being exposed. I also learned how to strafe effectively long ago with shooters and using passing angles with burst fire it makes it pretty easy in most spots. Learning how to judge and dodge shots (like dodging the FatBoy rockets in FC is pretty easy if you just watch their pattern). In reality though when in SP I really like to slow down games and look at the eye candy

As far as patches I used (and use) the 1.3 cumulative custom from DOCSeal in the official FarCry forums.

I went through it pretty easily.

It was a wicked game, and still proves to be fun. AND, as old as it is, the graphics still look pretty damn respectable!

However, COD4 just blows everything out of the wind. I just beat it on Hardened a few days ago (only got it about 3 weeks ago and didn't get a chance to play it much) so now it's time to try it on Vet.
