I'm blasted at this time , and one fingering the kb...but I almost like the game . The foremat is too like other games I have played and the "monsters" are too much Doom 3 for me.But in all....it's rated to me as "OK".
Bottem line if I was going to rate it by number...I give it maybe a 6 from 1 - 10.

Yeah, the Trigens were a huge flaw in the game. Only 4 kinds, and they all look the same. Kinda boring to have the same big monster clone all over the map. That and they're grossly overpowered, I just love getting one hit killed by a a thing that can fly across the screen faster then I can strafe.

....yeah they look alike....too much like DOOM. Not too bad of a game in other ass-pects.(bad spelling) But can be some fun if YOU make it that way. Seems like the player has more control.

That's the big draw in Far Cry, is that you can approach most missions however you see fit rather than following a linear path.

Im over the waterfall with 5 rounds left to kill 2million animale freaks.This level sux.I searched cheatcc for the walk thru and it sux too.And to set the cheat code up for god mode takes the brain of a rocket sciencentist.What is one to do here?

Is that the part after you nuke the facility? If so, sneak as close to the waterfall before the monkey Trigen sees you, then haul ass and dive off. Trigens don't like deep water, and won't chase you into it. Sneaking is your friend here, especially the prone position. Work your way across the little island, you'll find more weapons and ammo laying around. Try not to attract attention to yourself, watch the noise you make. At the end of the little island is a crashed helicopter with two gatling guns you can use to make mincemeat out of the Trigens. After that is a bunker full of all weapons and ammo, medkits and armor to set you straight again.

God mode is easy to get working. Go into the Far Cry subfolder, should be around Program Files->Ubisoft->Crytek. Look for the file DevMode.lua, and right click on it, open with, and then notepad. Delete the script inside, and replace with this tweaked one here:

Then save it.
Afterwards, go to the Bin32 subfolder, then right click on the FarCry.exe and make a shortcut. Copy the shortcut to your desktop. Right click on the shortcut, and click Properties. Change the Target Field so it looks like this:
"C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Crytek\Far Cry\Bin32\FarCry.exe" -DEVMODE
Basically, just add a space and then -DEVMODE after the FarCry.exe".

That does it, fire up the game and you'll notice all levels are unlocked. In game, backspace toggles God Mode on and off, O gives you 999 ammo for whatever weapon your holding, and P gives you all weapons. Also other commands too listed in the link above.

I figured it out and finished it up.Couldnt get the cheats to work though. The little monkey SOB's ....LOL Not too bad of a game.

Replaying FC now have played it since my old R9700P now on a 7950GT and a 22" LCD. Still a great game. At least I have an SM3 compliant card now!

I tried installing farcry along with the 64 bit patches awhile ago (running vista64), but it didn't work out too well at all... I guess I didn't try compatibility mode at all though. I'm going to have to give that a try again... the first half of the game really was a blast.
