I was on a FPS kick when BF2 first came out. But I haven't played any MP FPS games in a long time. CS:S just didn't do it for me. BF2142 was OK for about a week. COD4 has been awesome so far. I've finished the SP component twice already and play the MP daily. I've not logged in and played my MMORPG for more than 10 minutes since I got COD4. And that's saying something!

COD4 reminds me a lot of BF2 with Quake 3 mixed in. Absolutely one of the funnest run&gun FPS games I've played since putting down Quake3 and Urban Terror some three years ago.

Not always and usually not for third party software unless theres a sale. In this case it's the same.
