Those heatsinks (the CNPS7000 and the VF900) are not the same though... :?
They are designed with the sime idea in mind, but they are far from the same. The 7000 doesn't even have any heatpipes!
I think might be misunderstanding your post, could you elaborate :?:

boooooooo, VF900 is not MUCH better then VF700, no match for the X1900, simply cannot keeps temps <80c.

Oddly enough though, some reviewers claimed it to be enough to cool the X800\X1900 cards.

I've never understood the whole Zalman thing. I've read review after review talking about how great their coolers are, but every single one I've used has been abysmal

Zalman coolers are definitely geared towards silent computing. The VF700, 900 fans don't spin more then about 2600rpm. The Fatality version of the 700 does have a beefed up fan spinning @ 3600rpm. So for the person who doesn't mind the Delta 'hairdryer' fans, Zalman is no game.

I had the Arctic Cooling NV Silencer on my 6600GT and I was getting pretty decent temps (50/65), but a 7800GT might be another story. The ones that are made for the 7 series have a little larger heatsink, but still, I wouldn't expect anything earth-shattering. The major draw to those coolers is the fact that they are very quiet (which is true). For what it's worth, I also have a Zalman VF700-AlCu and it doesn't do a very good job at all. Temps were like 52/75 on my 6600GT. However, I just tried this new VGA cooler from Evercool and it is the best cooler I have tried yet so far. It is very quiet and cools the best out of anything I have tried. Idle temps are in the high 40's and load temps do not go above 60ÂșC!
It's available for a very good price at NewEgg...

HERE is a review of it at TechPowerUp! I think I might have to do a little writeup of this thing too, as I'm fairly impressed with its performance
The only negative I can see with it so far is that the heatpipes that come out of the back go right cross the the top of the card at the surface so you might not be able to use RAMsinks on the memory chips that are located at the top of the board under the heatpipes.
