| Hmmm... Well, I've got 2 92mm's as intakes at the top back of my computer. They push approximately 20 something cfm. Are they worth replacing? I don't think I can stick some 120's in the back =\ Last edited by NoctisReitop; November 29th, 2007 at 22:04. |

| You really do need some exhaust fans. I think you should get the highest performing 92mm fans you can find and hook them up to a fan controller. That was to can have noise control and performance as well. The Panaflo 92mm fans would be my choice. ![]() The whole idea behind the fan thing in general is to maintain a good constant airflow accross the components inside the system. Ambient temperature air in and case heated air out. The case has a volume and if we have a case exhausting n cubic feet per min. we can assume we have n cfm entering the case. Beyond the fans for air in and air out the case layout plays into things. You don't want things in the case obstructing your airflow and allowing for hot pockets of air that don't move much. What you really care about less the math involved with airflow is do you get good airflow and do you have good efficient airflow with minimal noise. Several months ago I did a post where though I did not focus on fans and beands I did track temperatures in and out of a workstation machine. Including PSU exhaust. Can't recall if it was in case & psu or general topics. Some of the numbers were interesting as to how much heat was generated and removed from the case. Ron | |

| Well, my computer has two intake fans at the back: two 92's stacked on top of each other. I have two exhausts on the top of my computer: those are 120's. Is that a wierd setup? |

| T-Rex | Quite a strange setup yes. Is it possible for you to get pictures? |

| Colonel Calamity | sounds like the ones on top are intake and the ones at back are exhaust (supposed to be) ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| Nope. Just the opposite. Here's a general picture to see the position of the fans in relation to each other. I can take more if needed. But I'm positive that the top are exhaust and the rear are intake. =\. The fans came attached to the case straight out the box. I never had a reason to remove them. | Yeah, turn the back fans around so that they are exhaust. From what I understand, it's better to have more exhaust fans than intake fans, so I think that having the top and the back fans in exhaust and the front fan intaking air is a better setup. This applies to cars too, so kids, stop messing with your mufflers will you? You're only making lawn mower noises with those. Is there any fan in the front NoctisReitop? | |

| Well, the reason I say that more exhaust is better is because then there is negative pressure in the case. That way, the air is sucked through the heatsinks rather than around them. The only reason positive pressure is good (more intakes than exhaust) is because that way less dust gets into the case.
