That's what I said.... =\. But it's M3/H. Divide by 60 to get M3/M. Multiply by conversion factor of 93.313 to get F3/M. Right?

If you don't mind paying top dollar, the Noctua fans are arguably the best fans on the market. But for something a little more reasonably priced, I would check out the regular speed Arctic Cooling fans, Low and Medium speed Panaflos. The Yate Loon fans are very cheap and have a low noise level, but the sleave bearing won't last long and doesn't always do very well noise wise when oriented horizontally (like on the top of a case) instead of vertically (like at the front or back of the case).

I see 92.3 cubic meters per hour which is about 3356 cubic feet per hour (about 56 CFM) with a noise of about 19.8 db(A). The actual cubic feet per min being 56.

Sometime back Manta or someone here at HL did a review on those fans. I know burried here somewhere a review exist.

Really? I had my Yate Loons on my rad on the top of my case (horizontally) and they were barely audible over the other fans on my case and the general background noise...

I'm just going by what SPCR wrote here...
The couple sleave bearing fans I've had (one Silverstone and one Thermaltake) both started making odd clicking or grinding noises in like 6 months - 1 year. Since then I've tried to avoid them as much as possible.

Meh, I've always been terrible at cubed units. Yeah, the actual cfm is 54.3257290017. Props to google unit conversions. 1 m3/h = .588577779 f3/m. That destroys the past hour of thought >.<

I'll have to take that into consideration. I'd definitely be mounting 2 horiziontally =\. I'm curious if my current horizontal fans have that sleeve bearing. Bad thing is, when I go to the manufacturer's website, the fan with the documented specs doesn't exist.

What do you guys have to say about Scythe fans?

Now that the CFM thing is done.

For what it is worth:

Cooling Fundamentals: Ball Vs. Sleeve Bearings - FrostyTech.com

Both sleeve and ball bearing designs have their merits. Any bearing sleeve or ball is subject to loading effect. When a fan runs in a vertical versus horizontal configuration the load the shaft places on the bearing changes. That also varies with the direction of airflow. The load determines bearing life.

Generally the cheaper sleeve is quieter but has a shorter life. Again depending on configuration.

I shouldn't chime in here but I will anyways. I use anything, usually what comes with the case I buy. Since I usually buy Antec cases, they usually have Antec fans so rarely have a problem (except the 120mm one that came with my SonataII already died which is rare).

Thanks HL and Corsair!

About fan controllers that can display the rpms of the fan, do I need to have fans with an rpm sensor for that to work?
